What I learned From My Fitness Journey

Hey! Welcome to Goals & Good Vibes. The main focus of my blog isn’t about fitness, but I think that a good fitness routine is important to have in place. It’s changed the game for me in a lot of ways. As a Beachbody coach, I had to put myself out there a lot and reach out to people and all of that fun stuff that I don’t do anymore. I still have a group of ladies and we all come together for support in my accountability group (Goals & Good Vibes: Wellness Warriors) , and I still will sign anyone up who wants to join for extra support and have access to the Beachbody workouts. That’s not what this post is about though. A lot of fellow coaches think I quit, and that’s not the case. I just choose to not actively pursue people, and let them come to me. Anyways, I used to only “workout” here and there before I had my now almost 2 year old son. I was “skinny” , but by no means healthy. I wouldn’t drink water, I wasn’t that flexible, I had no self-love or direction, I didn’t eat the right amount of meals for my caloric needs, I had no strength or booty if we’re being honest.. When I had my son I was somewhere in the 115-120lb range, and my end weight by the time I had my son was 169lbs. (pictures of my heaviest weight during pregnancy below.) When I first started my fitness journey on November 11th, 2020 I really thought it was just gonna be like every other time I tried working out and I would give up after not seeing results after a few days. Which, is unrealistic thinking. I tried a program called 21 day fix to start and I finished it all the way through, and since at that time I also decided to share my journey and become a coach, I was posting things way outside of my comfort zone like me working out to the programs, and pictures of my transformations. That was a huge step for me, because I used to cover my body on purpose even when I was, again, “skinny.” So that was the start of me opening up more. I was sharing my postpartum body to random strangers and people I knew on facebook and instagram. haha.

I learned that I am capable of things even if at first, I don’t believe in myself. I learned to properly fuel my body with no restrictions, because that just sets you up for failure. I learned that exercise has a lot more benefits than just the physical results you see, and you will feel it too. I learned to love myself and not compare myself to others, and am only focused on working on myself. I learned that I really benefit from having an accountability group, because it’s harder to give up when you have support. I learned that there are other people in the world who I can relate to, and stopped feeling as alone as I did before starting Beachbody. I learned how to manage my time better, and try to be productive most days. I learned that you need exercise even if you don’t have any specific fitness goals.

When you take care of yourself, you just feel better. When you set a goal for yourself and reach said goal, you build your self-esteem. When you make a conscious choice to workout, you become diciplined. You don’t need to sign up for a program to do that and you you can get accountability from a friend just as easy. You don’t need money to work towards your goals. You just have to be consistent, and switch what you’re doing up to keep you from plateauing.

  1. Wow! Well done you!
    In the end of September 2019 I was 106,6 kilo’s. I decided I needed to lose weight. Joined a gym, started eating better and I was losing weight. Covid19 hit, my routine got smashed with lockdowns and since then, it’s been up and downs. I’m currently at 77 kilo’s, still overweight. In January I was 71 kilo’s but I got hit with depression and I struggled.
    So I’m still trying to work towards my goal. But even while I don’t lose weight atm, I am working out, which I should benefit from in the end. 😊 I won’t give up! Though I’ll never have a beach body, if you don’t count the stranded whale 🐳 πŸ˜‚ sorry…. 😊 My humor. πŸ˜‡

  2. Right you are! I’m 85, walk every day, use my exercycle a couple of times a week, and do ‘Joint Works’ exercises to keep my arthritis in check. It works! Keep going….
