1.Read inspirational or motivational content
The daily use of motivational or inspirational content is a good way to feed your mind positivity and give you a little encouragement for your day. Every morning you could read a daily quote or a daily devotional.
2. Listen to a podcast
There are many different kinds of podcasts out there. You can find one for almost any subject you’re interested in. The good thing about podcasts is you can listen to them while doing almost anything and be learning something new in the process.
3.Play brain games
Playing brain games will help improve memory, brain function, and your processing speed. A few apps i’ve tried myself are; Lumosity, Elevate, and Peak. Not only are they fun to play, but you’re benefiting your mind as well.
4. Get physical exercise
As nice as it is to see physical results when you workout, that is not the only benefit of daily exercise. It has a huge impact on self-esteem, mood, and energy levels too!
5. Read a book daily
If you spend 30 minutes every day reading a physical book, it will help stimulate your mind and help enhance your vocabulary.
6. Practice meditation
It’s been proven that practicing atleast 10 minutes of meditation every day has numerous positive benefits to your mind and mental health and are linked to better focus, attentiveness, and emotional tranquility.
7. Ask questions
Always be curious to learn new things every day. Question your own beliefs and be open minded to other points of views or ways of thinking. The way we grow up and what we surround ourselves with has a lot to do with how we view the world and our beliefs, but it doesn’t mean you can’t start to look at things with fresh eyes.
8. Positive self talk
Positive self talk is a very effective stress reduction tool. Positivity doesn’t come naturally for everyone, but you can still create it. For instance, start the day off with a positive affirmation.
9. Watch who you follow on social media
Unfriend or stop following anyone who makes you feel bad about yourself, or who is always posting negative things and replace them with like-minded or inspirational women. It’s a game changer for your mental health when you filter what you allow yourself to be exposed to and seeing positivity and inspiration on your newsfeed as a regular thing.
10. Eat brain foods
Salmon, leafy greens, walnuts, blueberries, whole grains, eggs, and beets are just a few examples of foods that are linked to a multitude of brain health benefits when consumed on a regular basis. It’s not realistic or sustainable to cut out greasy or processed foods forever, but everything in moderation. You could also try taking a daily supplement focused on brain power; which by the way, will not replace a healthy diet with actual foods.
