Precious Jessica,
When I read your affirmation this morning, the Lord brought to my mind that His path has both sunshine and rain on it…. The way of the cross leads to joy in the end, but there is suffering involved in our journey…. yes, the loss of happiness at times.
When we make affirmations, they must be in line with the Word of God and it in many verses tells us we must go through and endure suffering. The Apostle Paul gloried and took pleasure in his many sufferings, and actually boasted of them. (2 Cor. 11: 23- 29) I believe it was because suffering makes our hearts better. Ecclesiastes 7: 3 states “Sorrow is better than laughter, For by a sad countenance the heart is made better.”
You are such a dear, dear one. I pray that you will seek the Lord in this matter, and that you will find scripture verses to confirm your affirmations.
I have felt much joy in you Jessica, and thank God for you.
❤️Michele
My page isn’t about the removal of negative feelings and hard times…it’s for inspiration during those times.. 🫶 thank you for your comment though. Have a blessed day!! 🙏💜
I can see that your desire is a pure one to bring inspiration to God’s people Jessica, and I praise Him for that, but scripture does not support “happiness” as being the goal of a Christian. Our goal is to bring glory to God and the Bible teaches that we do it by the “cross” which is NOT the removal of negative feelings and hard times…. It’s the death of “self living for self.”
Look at all the sufferings the Apostle Paul gloried in 2 Cor. 24- 31: Tell me: Are there any listed that could bring personal happiness? He, himself said: “I will glory of the things which concern my infirmities.” In Colossians 1:24 Paul writes, “Now I rejoice in what I am suffering for you, and I fill up in my flesh what is still lacking in regard to Christ’s afflictions, for the sake of his body, which is the church.“
I choose the path of the cross, Jessica, and I, like Paul, glory in my sufferings knowing my heart is being made better through them-….. knowing that if I suffer with Christ (not seek my own happiness,) I will reign with Him.
Not many will embrace the cross, my sister. I pray your eyes will be opened to its power and that you will treasure it more than having personal happiness:
It’s the way to wellness, wholeness and life.
God bless you and may the sun and the rain in your life bring forth much fruit.
