If you’re like me, you may have a hard time keeping everything straight and procrastination gets the best of you sometimes. If you’re here, you are probably looking for ways to better manage your time. I came up with 7 Tips For Better Time Management that I started doing myself and have noticed a huge difference in productivity than I do on days where I don’t put in the required effort and discipline. I hope you’re able to take something from this and incorporate it into your daily life. (:

1. Create a daily plan

You can either do this the night before, or in the morning. It’s good to plan out your day so you don’t get overwhelmed or forget what you intend on getting done each day. When you have a list in front of you to check off, it tends to hold you more accountable do stick to what’s important each day.

2. Set a time limit for each task

When you set aside a specific amount of time to complete each task, it creates a sense of urgency to focus your attention on what you’re currently doing. You could even set a timer on your phone when you begin a new task, so you know when to move on to the next one.

3. Use a calendar or planner

It’s a good idea for keeping track of the day, and also a very helpful way to keep track of all your deadlines so you don’t forget any upcoming meetings, appointments, or other commitments.

4. Don’t take on more than you can handle

Learn to say ‘no’ when you need to. Don’t put more on your plate than you feel like you have time to get done. Some things can wait for another day. You don’t have to do everything all at once.

5. Set a reminder 10 minutes before

You might get distracted doing other things; so to avoid being late or losing sight of the goals you set for your day, you could set a reminder on your phone for 10 minutes before.

6. Stop multi-tasking

Focus only on the task at hand. Multitasking is actually not very effective or productive compared to those who focus only on one task, because it makes it harder to give your full attention to one thing, and things don’t get done to their fullest potential. Studies also suggest that high level multitaskers had less brain density in the region of the brain responsible for empathy as well as cognitive and emotional control.

7. Limit distractions

We often don’t realize the time we spend being distracted every day. From checking your social media, to binge watching tv, to an unexpected long phone call. Try to put down your phone and avoid sitting in front of the tv, set aside time to watch tv or scroll social media after you finish what needs done.

Thank you for reading! I hope these tips are able to help you in the way that they have helped me to accomplish more in my day and keep my priorites straight!

  1. Time management is NOT one of my better qualities unfortunately. I get easily overwhelmed sometimes. I find that tackling things one at a time really helps and taking breaks as needed works wonders too. There are days when I take on far more than I’m capable of and I end up scratching things off my list and moving them to tomorrow. One of the hardest parts is just getting started! Yet once the list is finished… the relief I feel makes the entire thing worthwhile ❤️. Farm stuff is FOREVER a mile long to-do list 🥴
