  1. Create a morning routine. The start of your day determines how it will go. Find something that works well for you that will jumpstart your day in a positive & peaceful way. Wake up before your kids and enjoy the peace of the quiet morning.
  2. Pray. Pray over your day with a grateful heart and loving intentions.
  3. Clean as you go. Don’t leave behind messes when the trash can is right there. If you see something out of place, take the extra second to put it where it belongs.
  4. Schedule meal times. Try to create a habit for your kids by having the main meals around the same time each day.
  5. Set aside time for self-care daily. You can’t pour from an empty cup. Self-care may look different for you day-to-day. Just make sure to take that time for yourself. Even if it’s just 15 minutes.
  6. Plan independent activities for kids. My son loves crafts and crayons. Recently he discovered magic markers that show up in color on the coloring book it comes with and that’s keeps him occupied so I can get what needs done taken care of.
  7. Make a realistic to-do list. Focus each day on a few specific tasks that really need to get done. Don’t overwhelm yourself to the point of burnout. If you follow the advice of #3 and clean as you go, it will be easier to keep up with the constant messes that pile up.
  8. Night clean up routine. I usually go around and clean up whatever toys, or fruit snack wrappers I find on the floor. I don’t always do a night clean up, and I always regret it.
